Federatie voor Internationale Natuurbescherming

Who we are

The Federation for International NatureConservation (FIN) is a “non-profit” federation of 15 Dutch organizations which are all focussed on international nature conservation. The FIN was founded in 2001.

Each member organization has its own unique experience with conserving, researching or managing nature reserves or individual species. The FIN combines these practical experiences, whereby the members can support each other with knowledge but also logistically.  The aim of the FIN is to facilitate the coorperation between the members to conserve (preferably in situ) wild animals and plants by initiating, stimulating, executing and facilitating activities and research related to nature conservation and restoring natural areas.

The added value of the Federation for International Nature Conservation is in the implementation: all projects are executed by people who want to make a difference. Not by big organizations, but by dedicated indiviudals who swim againts the current and say we can make a difference by our own actions. Our members fight for areas and species that need our help or will be lost forever. This has resulted in successtories: the first protected area in Frans Guiana, the survival of the Amoer leopard and the conservation of Swayne's Hartebeest in Ethiopia.

The FIN brings these dedicated people together because together we stand stronger, can help and learn from each other.
